On 7th April, the school labor union and case center successfully held April Teachers Salon at 302 meeting room of SPPM. The Labor Union will focus on providing a platform for teachers to improve their teaching and research this year and this is the first time for the labor union and case center to co-hold such teaching salon with the theme of case development and education.22 teachers including Meng Qingguo, Lan Zhiyong, Han Tingchun, Wu Yongping participated in this activity.

Case Center Director Mu Ling introduced current case bank construction, case development, academic services and cases published, which triggered fierce discussion between attending teachers. Teachers provided valuable comments and suggestions as case users, which has charted course for our School’s case education and development. Since the foundation of School of Public Policy and Management 16 years ago, SPPM has been attaching great importance to case development and teaching service. Case teaching has been widely used by all Faculty of SPPM, which helps many students better understand the complexity of China’s national conditions and the particularity of China’s problems through specific cases, and meanwhile foster their open governing concept, scientific decision methods as well as innovative thinking ability.

Teachers have been active in their course construction, instructing the case writing and doing the field research personally, as well as holding two case teaching seminars annually to deeply share case teaching experience. Now case teaching has become an education feature for MPA education of SPPM, and won wide recognition among MPA students.
