From October 27th to 28th, China Case Center held a training program for all MPA schools and teachers in China. The training program was organized by National MPA Education Steering Committee of China and undertaken by China Case Center for Public Policy & Management, School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University. More than 70 professors from 36 universities throughout China have participated in the training program.
The training program was composed by different sections, including a lecture, a demonstration lesson, group discussions, exchange of experiences, case teaching practice and so on. On the first day of the program, Professor Wang Ming of SPPM delivered a lecture on the importance of case teaching note, and introduced how to write a good teaching note. Later a demonstration lesson was taught by Professor Cheng Wenhao, to show the importance and advantage of case teaching method in the study of public policy and management. On that night, participants were divided into five groups to discuss the case study of "Burdensome Cotton". Every group was required to write a teaching note based on their discussion. And the group that wrote the best teaching note won the chance to practice case teaching on the next day, with other participants as students. On the second day, the participants shared their experiences of case teaching with each other. Later in the afternoon, the case teaching practice was done, which was commented later by Professor Wu Yongping and Director Mu Ling of Case Center.
